The NYSOMA Board held a meeting January 7 in Binghamton after the head judge/problem captain training. The board thanks all those who took the time to attend the training. This is one of the ways in which we obtain consistency throughout the state.

The board will have openings this year. Anyone interested in applying for a board position or for the position of Secretary to the Board should notify me by March 31, 2007.

We currently have 440 registered memberships, which is 10 memberships below last year. The Board discussed ways to increase membership and how we could best assist regions with this.

Regional tournaments are scheduled and board members will be visiting and assisting with a number of these tournaments. Marketing orders have been filled and many regions will have items for sale at their tournament.

The state tournament will be in Binghamton on March 31, 2007

Spontaneous camps will be held in the fall instead of the summer in 2007. We are looking for possible sites.

The next board meeting will be in Fairport on February 10, 2007.
