The New York State board reviewed the list of proposed names at the February meeting and announced our new friend’s name at the State Tournament. There were many names submitted and the New York State Odyssey program board would like to acknowledge and thank all those who submitted ideas and suggestions. The board took some of the ideas and created a name that we thought would be unique, represent the goals of the program and would be fun for the kids to remember and use.

SNYPS ( Super New York Problem Solvers ), pronounced “snips”

We are sure there will be lots of unique and creative ways we can put this new name to use developing and enhancing the program and we will be looking for ideas and suggestions over the next few months on what the pin designs should look like for next year using our new mascot, SNYPS.
