The NYSOMA Board held its annual business meeting June 11 and 12 in Albany. The main purpose of this meeting is to complete the year’s financial review, adopt a budget for the next year, and to hold elections for those board position whose terms expire at the end of the fiscal year and to hold elections for the elected officer positions.

The NYSOMA Board held a one-day meeting March 20 in Binghamton following the State Tournament. There were approximately 238 teams that took part in the tournament celebrating NYSOMA’s 25th anniversary. The Board congratulates all who participated. A meeting will be held at Binghamton University on April 2 for the 32 teams who qualified to represent New York at World Finals in Boulder, Colorado.

The NYSOMA Board held it’s a one-day meeting January 9 in Binghamton following the Problem Captain/Head Judge training. As information 99 people attended the PC/HJ training. The board thanks those that attended. The willingness to attend this training session and then train others in their respective regions is essential to achieving consistent judging throughout the state. Based on the positive feedback received from the new HJ training session consideration will be given to offer this again next year.

The NYSOMA Board held its second meeting of the program year October 16 in Rochester.

The NYSOMA Board held its first meeting of the year September 11 and 12 in Binghamton. The board welcomed two new board members, Amy Braun and Rick Pray, and a new Registrar, LouAnn Pray. The board also welcomed Jane Hogan to her new position of Assistant State Director.
