2008 Regional tournaments are here !!!
Each year, thousands of young New Yorkers start
on the journey
to creative problem solving. 466 national memberships
have been purchased in New York State this year. Teams have been
created, problems selected, and
work has been going on by these creative individuals since September of
last
year. The first step to reaching World Finals is competing at a
tournament
in one of the NYSOMA regions around the state. Tournament time is
here!!!
The teams are getting excited as they prepare to show off their
creative
solutions to this year's problems. There are 16 separate regional
competitions within New York that cover the majority of the
state. These
tournaments occur on the following weekends: February 16th and 23rd and March 1st, 8th and 15th. Take
a moment and review the regional tournaments
listed below near you. We know the teams will love your
support. Mark the date on your calendar now for the tournament in
your
region, so you'll have an opportunity to 'cheer on' all the
teams. You can
also check out any of the other tournaments around the state, the first
leg of the journey to World Finals.
Please consider coming down to Binghamton, NY on Saturday March 29 to cheer on
our regional winners as they strive to move on to the World Finals
tournament at the University of Maryland held on May 31 - June 3, 2008.
