NYSOMA Needs Your Help – Open Board and Officer Positions Available
The Assistant State Director is an officer to the NYSOMA board and “shadows” the State Director. They both attend several meetings throughout the year at various locations. The intent of this position is to REPLACE the State Director when the Board determines that it is time for a change in leadership or if the SD position becomes vacant.
There is also the Fall State Director’s meeting, where all SDs from other states get together. In the past, this meeting has been in Sewell, NJ or Orlando, FL. The Assistant State Director is also expected to attend two Regional Director meetings, usually held in the fall and spring of each year.
In addition, the NYSOMA Board is looking for individuals that would like to take on a bigger role. Some of the Board’s responsibilities are to help with regional support, pin designs, merchandise planning, membership growth, sponsorship, social media, official training, etc.
The NYSOMA board meets 6-8 times a year in Binghamton, NY. If the meetings are more than one day, NYSOMA covers the cost of the hotel.
